The Dr. Luis Betances Institute of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery was founded in 2003.
Formed by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained professionals, with the common goal of providing definitive treatment to patients affected by severe obesity, accompanied by periodic monitoring to ensure healthy weight loss.
The Institute's operations center is the Center for Diagnostics, Advanced Medicine, Medical Conferences, and Telemedicine (CEDIMAT) in Santo Domingo; the Northern Medical Union; and the Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS) in Santiago de los Caballeros.
