Revisional Surgery

What is Revision Surgery?

Revision surgery is a procedure designed for patients who have already undergone bariatric surgery and experience weight regain or complications associated with the initial procedure. Before performing this surgery, at the Dr. Luis Betances Bariatric Institute, we conduct a comprehensive medical evaluation to identify the specific causes of the decline in results, whether anatomical, metabolic, or related to the patient's habits. Based on this analysis, a new, personalized surgical intervention is planned to correct the identified factors.

The procedure takes approximately three hours and requires 10 days of rest. This procedure allows for a safe, sustained, and controlled return to weight loss, while also helping to manage associated conditions such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and sleep apnea.

At the Dr. Luis Betances Bariatric Institute, our commitment is to support you with a comprehensive approach and ongoing postoperative follow-up, aimed at improving your quality of life and achieving lasting results.
