Gastric Plication

A new technique with promising results has recently been described in the literature: gastric plication, which would not have the complications of using mechanical sutures and would entail a reduction in costs.

The Apollo Method, also known as Endoscopic Vertical Gastroplasty, is a stomach reduction technique that involves a series of sutures placed in the stomach walls, achieving a considerable reduction in volume so that it can accommodate less food. These sutures are placed orally through an endoscopic procedure. The procedure lasts between 50 and 80 minutes and requires anesthesia, so it is performed in an operating room for greater safety. However, no incisions are made; it is not surgery.
