The Institute of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Dr. Luis Betances emerged in 2003. Formed by a multidisciplinary team of highly trained professionals, with the common goal of providing definitive treatment to those patients affected by severe obesity, accompanied by periodic monitoring that ensures healthy weight loss.
The Institute's center of operations is the Center for Diagnosis, Advanced Medicine, Medical Conferences and Telemedicine (CEDIMAT) in Santo Domingo; The Northern Medical Union and the Santiago Metropolitan Hospital (HOMS), in Santiago de los Caballeros.
